RELEASE | SFU BCIHL team to add Gavin Bains for 2024.25 season

BURNABY, BC – The SFU Red Leafs BCIHL team is proud to announce the addition of Gavin Bains to the roster for the 2024.25 season.

Bains, from Surrey, BC, played 138 games in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PIJHL) from 2020 to 2024 with the Ridge Meadows Flames and Richmond Sockeyes. Bains brings a wealth of playoff experience as well, scoring at a point-per-game in the 28 playoff games as an alternate captain with the Sockeyes and finishing sixth in scoring in the 2024 PIJHL Championship.

On the ice, Bains describes his play as a physical two-way forward who likes to get in on the forecheck, and a playmaker who can open up space on the ice. His goals include developing his play at the university level and bringing a championship back to SFU. Off the ice, Bains plans to complete his degree, and will be deciding between business and health sciences come September.
