RELEASE | Red Leafs add WHL alum Thomas Tien

BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs Hockey program is excited to announce the commitment of forward Thomas Tien to the non-conference roster for the 2024.25 season.

Tien, from Richmond, BC, joins the Red Leafs after spending parts of three seasons with the Western Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors and Tri-City Americans, potting 20 points for the clubs. Tien also made a stop in the British Columbia Hockey League during the 2023 season with the Vernon Vipers, adding another 20 points to his resume in 32 games.

“We’re very pleased to have Thomas join the team,” said Head Coach Mark Coletta, “he has years of WHL and Junior A experience and he’s a fast, in-your-face type of player.”

“He happened to already be enrolled in the Beedie School of Business so it worked out great for us and him.”

Tien will make his debut with the club on Friday, September 20th, as the Red Leafs host the USports Trinity Western University Spartans for the first of two back-to-back games this weekend.
