RELEASE | Red Leafs add Ryan Redekopp to d-corps

BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs Hockey program is excited to announce the commitment of defenceman Ryan Redekopp to the non-conference roster for the 2024.25 season.

Redekopp, from Martensville, SK, brings three years of Junior experience to SFU including 48 games with the USPHL National Collegiate Development Conference’s Philadelphia Hockey Club and over 100 games with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Lloydminster Bobcats.

“Ryan is a solid defender,” said Head Coach Mark Coletta, “We’ve played enough games at the NCAA D1 level to know that we need a physical element to have success, and Reds adds that to our game. We’re excited to have him on our blue line.”

Redekopp describes his play style as a two-way defender who’s not afraid to join the rush when the opportunity arises, and wants to maintain a strong average in school while being a dominant defenceman on the ice.
