BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs Hockey program is excited to announce the commitment of defenceman Caleb Huffman to the non-conference roster for the 2024.25 season.

Huffman, from Fairbanks, AK, played 42 games with the NCAA Division 1 University of Alaska–Anchorage over the past two years, joining the Seawolves at the end of the 2023 season. Prior to joining the Seawolves, the two-way defenceman played his junior career with the North American 3 Hockey League’s (NA3HL) North Iowa Bulls and North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Kenai River Brown Bears, captaining the club in 2023.

“We’re really excited to have Caleb with us this year,” said Head Coach Mark Coletta, “he’s a solid defender with D1 experience so we’ll be looking to him to jump right in and play some important minutes for us.”

Huffman becomes the third former Seawolf to join the Red Leafs, following former SFU Captain Nick Wicks and current and former teammate Jimmy Darby.

Huffman comes to SFU with the goal of signing a professional contract after earning his degree in Business Management.
