RELEASE | Albertan Zac Maxwell to join Red Leafs Non-Conference Roster

BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs Hockey program is excited to announce the commitment of forward Zac Maxwell to the non-conference roster for the 2024.25 season.

Maxwell, from Sherwood Park, AB, spent his junior career with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Sherwood Park Crusaders and remained with the team in their transition to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), racking up 197 games and 122 points in the regular season.

“We’re excited for him to come in, it’s great to have Zac join this group,” said Head Coach Mark Coletta, “we lost a lot of speed to the guys who graduated last year, and that plus his offensive upside is something we’ll need going into this year.”

“He competes hard and adds a physical element to our team.”

While Maxwell hasn’t played with any current or former Red Leafs players, his rookie season saw him play alongside the likes of Matthew Savoie (Buffalo Sabres) and Dylan Guenther (Arizona Coyotes / Utah NHL Club).
