GAMEDAY | Red Leafs wrap up 2025 NCAA schedule in second game against Lindenwood
MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO – After falling to the Lions last night, SFU will return to the ice one more time against Lindenwood to wrap up the 2024.25 campaign.
The Red Leafs will wrap up their 2024.25 non-conference season on Saturday afternoon against Lindenwood after falling to the Lions 0-0 last night.
SFU got off to a decent start, falling behind 1-0 in the first with Ben Ward answering just 13 seconds into the 2nd period to tie the game at 1. However, the Red Leafs would take 3 penalties and give the Lions a handful of opportunities to score where they would eventually capitalize twice; once on special teams.
Later in the third, the Lions would extend their lead to 4-1 and goaltender Cale Dolan would head down the tunnel with an injury. Dolan would return to the game by the end of the period, but the Red Leafs would be served an interference penalty after Lindenwood’s 4th goal and the Lions would again get a chance on the powerplay where they would extend their lead to 5-1.
A bright spot in the night’s action would be in the faceoff circle, where Lucas Ceccarelli would win 11 of 16 of his draws.
Makaj is anticipated to get the start this afternoon, and the game will again be shown live for free at LindenwoodLions.com. You’ll also be able to follow the action live online with us on Instagram and Twitter / X at @SFUHockey.
